Indigenous Nature Alphabet: A Colouring Book of Culture, Land and Identity invites readers of all ages into a thoughtful journey through the ABCs. Each letter hand-drawn and filled with culturally significant plants, animals, and items from Indigenous life.
From A for abalone, antler, and alder to Z for items that reflect the richness of Indigenous language and land, every page is designed to inspire curiosity, conversation, and creativity. Alongside each illustrated letter is a companion page that explains the Indigenous significance of each element, grounding the art in cultural meaning and lived experience.
Created by a First Nations artist and educator, this colouring book is both an artistic experience and an educational tool. Whether used in classrooms, at home, or in community programs, it encourages reflection on the deep relationship between land and identity.
This is more than an alphabet, it’s a way of seeing, learning, and belonging.
